Vietnamese New Year – Tet Parade – 2009

This year, Tet parade took place down on Bolsa Avenue in Westminster.  The Tet parade had a mix of participants from various marching bands, mariachi bands, dragon dances from different martial arts centers, members of Vietnamese Armed Forces, as well as, various local politicians and organizations.  There were also representatives from  other southeast Asian communities such as Hispanic, Korean, Cambodian, Laotian, and Hmong who graciously came out to celebrate Tet with us.  One cool thing about this year Tet parade was the participation of one super cool Vietnamese biker group who dressed in traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai, decorated their Harley Davidson bike with American and Vietnamese flags.  O.K. enjoy the pictures.

Wow, I was there late so I missed a lot of things. I didn’t get to watch the rerun on the TV because of VPGT’s meeting. I especially like the picture of all the students who wore ao dai and play violins…that was an awesome scene. :)
