Khanh Ly, Quang Le, Huong Thuy, Luu Viet Hung, Van Quynh, Nhat Binh, Lindsey Do, Tuong Nguyen, Helen-Elene Lopez, the magic of Joseph Tran and other musicians who came together and gave a spectacular performance on new year day at Tet Festival, Bolsa Grande High. You don’t have to understand the language to feel the love. All you need to do is pretty much immerse yourself into the sound of music which come from rolls and rolls of gigantic speakers on stage. Because of my love for photography…….. uhhh….. and their singing, my ears are still ringing until today because I stood so close to the speakers to get a few shots of your favorite artists.

Tet Opening Ceremony

I’m sure by now you all knows what Vietnamese New Year and its tradition is all about. We normally celebrate Tet for three days, but the fun and excitements go on for more than a week or ten days in practice. It is a time of lavish spending as we try to have a prosperous year to come. By popular demand, I have a few pictures from the Tet Festival opening ceremony, organized by UVSA, that I liked to share. Here, we go….

Normally, I don’t mix business with pleasure, but aren’t we proud to be Vietnamese American? Big thanks to UVSA organizers and its associate to fulfill the needs of hundred thousands of people, especially to the younger generation, to remember our customs and heritage. Hat off to you guys.

Miss Vietnam of Southern California – Part III of V

What a hectic week that I’ve been thru. so far!!! I am only to manage to work on three more contestants for the UVSA Hoa Khoi Lien Truong, 2009. I have to finish up other projects that I put behind for so long, prepare to shoot a wedding this weekend, get ready for Las Vegas trip over the Valentine weekend with my lovely wife, and attend the WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) show at MGM. There are no particular order on whom pictures I worked on, so hopefully I don’t disappointed anyone. You’re all beautiful. O.K. Enjoy girls.

Vietnamese New Year – Tet Parade – 2009

This year, Tet parade took place down on Bolsa Avenue in Westminster. The Tet parade had a mix of participants from various marching bands, mariachi bands, dragon dances from different martial arts centers, members of Vietnamese Armed Forces, as well as, various local politicians and organizations. There were also representatives from other southeast Asian communities such as Hispanic, Korean, Cambodian, Laotian, and Hmong who graciously came out to celebrate Tet with us. One cool thing about this year Tet parade was the participation of one super cool Vietnamese biker group who dressed in traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai, decorated their Harley Davidson bike with American and Vietnamese flags. O.K. enjoy the pictures.

Since there are way too many beautiful pictures of all the contestants from Miss Vietnam of Southern California beauty pageant, I have a hard time to focus on any of them. Does Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) syndrome sound familiar, guys? ) Luckily, my lovely wife is kind of notice that and give me a short, quick, gentle massage on my neck.
